* You cannot distinguish whether the oil in the tank is produced from conventional or
unconventional sand or reservoir. Once the oil is on the surface it is just another barrel of oil.
The difference between the two is the cost of getting the barrel to the surface.

* Conventional oil drilling is cheaper than unconventional oil drilling, with conventional oil
drilling techniques, companies do not need as much work onshore because the mechanical and
carbon footprints for drilling and completion operations are much smaller. Unconventional drilling
is a longer process. Usually the well is tight and the movement of oil takes longer geologic time. To
alleviate the slow process. The beauty of unconventional drilling is its repeatability. Companies may
run into mechanical issues, but it's similar to driving a car; you put a key in the ignition, the car starts
and you are driving down the road.

* Reserve calculation using new technology and economics evaluation using
modeling for this.

* Many people believe that conventional and unconventional oil are in competition with one
another. However, the opposite is true. Both drilling techniques go hand-in-hand with each other,
at any area you start with Convential and after that you go to with unconvential using acid
fracturing to increase productivity.

* Unconventional oil included "oil shale, oil sands or tight oil (light tight oil from shale or
tight sand), Using ArcGIS for sharing data and data management, using petrel for models,
study source rocks (TOC total organic carbon-maturity-kerogen types-refractor index RI-
basin model to know age of immigration trap), Not only Provide strategies, direction,
control and leadership in geosciences evaluation and petroleum resource management
throughout exploration, appraisal, development, production and abandonment but also
responsible for technical leadership in implementation of the stratigraphic (youngest and
oldest beds also horizontal layer always in top.

Middle East-Tunnel between Italy and France.

well planning of main well and general geology of area especially offset well was drilled in this area.
Check both Mud logging unit and LWD/MWD units (calibration and all tools-contract-teamwork
skills) means AUDIT.

2- During drilling:

* Used cutting-LWD-drilling or lag parameters-prognosis and correlation to identify
formations top-casing point-coring point-landing point (top of reservoir) and how to stop
drilling.
* Check from time to time lag time-gas system-gas interpretation, well trajectory (cross
section), depth, kick and mud loss or gain, pore pressure signs, drilling break.
* Send daily geological reports (mud logging logs-reports with ASCII)-LAS for MWD
with graphical and my geological report with quality control data.
* Update final well report; follow HSE role or safety meeting and law inside country.
* Check cutting and coring description-florescence for oil shows (crude oil or dead oil or
coming from pyrite).

* Check wire line calibration like depth with either rig floor or with casing point as
reference- repeat section, speedy wire line-tension log scale and so on (QC or
quality control).
* Send logs direct to main head office to know pressure points lead to know mobility and
fluids contacts.
* Manage samples (cutting-coring-geochemical-mud-side wall and so on) with manifest to
head office, update final well report (FWR) and keep communications with operation
geology.
* After drilling: logs, pressure points, documentations and recommendations.

subsurface team, give daily brief to EXM (exploration manager), assist daily meeting with
either services companies or subsurface team to know where we are.

* After drilling we starting wire line log, collect data from WSG, follow by
send pressure points to WSG to know mobility and fluid contacts. 7- Receiving

Pressure data from WSG, finally determinate perforation zones. 8- Ensuring

(Sedimentary rocks specially carbonates-Core instructor and mapping). Role:
We teach:-

* Focusing about sedimentary rocks specially carbonates (chemical as

Limestone and dolomite) like Dunham Folk-Petijjohn-Leighton and
Pendexure- Coldishmitch-Wright as authors did before with different
classifications- importance of carbonates (building construction- reservoir or
as oil trap-having fossils used for decorations in museums-coral reefs and so
on)-identify carbonates in oilfield used HCL or calcimetry apparatus-used
electrical logs to know carbonates)- identify sweet spots inside Carbonates
used both gamma ray and resistivity data with images-from seismic you able
to identify DHI (direct hydrocarbon indicator)-different problems happened
during drilling with carbonates especially mud stone-carbonate deposition
environments even sand stone- shale and used went worth scale for grain
size.

* Coring (How we got core samples-when we got core-companies
professional for this like core lab or weatherford lab-precautions -
coring point (top and bottom)-cut-indicate top and bottom with depth
and protection and you take small chip to describe-put inside wooden
box- different studies and do thin section and so on)-slides, predicate
pore pressure (before-during and after drilling)

* Role of geologist before-during and after drilling in oil exploration.

* Teach maps (structure contour maps-thickness both isochors and
isopach-facies) geophysical maps (gravity-electrical-magnetic),
cross section manual or via new software's.

* Enhanced oil recovery and initial oil recovery (EOR/IOR)
methods- different applications of societies petroleum engineers
(SPE) and petroleum resources management system (PRMS).

* Make up BHA inside system to calculate lag time, follow mud charactersvolume

* Analyses earth composition (different types of rocks, especially
sedimentary rock - types and structures). Why all scientist study more
details about sedimentary rocks (Carbonates) like Dunham- Coldismitch-
Folk and so on? Examined origin of oil, physical and chemical properties
of oil, source rocks-migration-traps-cap rocks. Different studies before
drilling to know subsurface geological structure-stratigraphy-reservoir
depth and so on (geological survey-geophysical-maps- geochemical
analysis for soil) Rigs (types-composition-function of each part),
different team work beside rig (services and owner companies-role of
each one beside rig) Mud (types- characters- calculate volume-functions
of mud even functions of each composition). How can you do full
geological and drilling report? Try to follow different operations in
oilfield.

* Understand international petroleum law (IPL) Due to All student come
from Libya sometimes so that's why we focusing about why all oil
company hurry to Libya? Oil in shallow depth-API (American petroleum
institute) degree up to 42-location of Libya is very easy to export oildesert
covered by 78% by sedimentary rocks and so on.
