Descriptif de l'annonce :


Based in Calgary and reporting directly to the Team Lead, Conventional Exploration. The will be responsible for identifying complex growth opportunities on developed and undeveloped land and support the teams evaluation in capturing resource targets via crown land sales, farm-ins and asset or corporate acquisitions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Vermilion’s existing acreage for exploration opportunities and provide recommendation on the completion and re-completion of existing and new wells;
  • Evaluate and optimize the appraisal and development strategies for any conventional exploration assets;
  • Monitor competitor and analog activity outside of existing land base and identify opportunities for consolidation, farm-ins, new land acquisition and new technology applications;
  • Provide engineering support for new play concept evaluation and acquisition including the application of practical reservoir and exploitation concepts in the assessment of cores, logs, PVT, completions and production/reserves;
  • Be comfortable with limited data sets and large uncertainties and have an awareness of new industry play types;
  • Apply previous oil and gas asset evaluation experience to the assessment of acquisition opportunities and the preparation of associated business proposals including risk assessment and economic evaluations;
  • Provide engineering support to Business Development when evaluating Canadian acquisitions (as requested);
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to executive management regarding exploration opportunities; and
  • Participate in Vermilion’s Health, Safety and Environmental program.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering preferred with a minimum of 10 years related experience
  • Business acumen with a solid understanding or risk and economic decision making
  • Has the ability to think creatively with ‘outside-the-box’ thinking and can create ideas and ultimately value that others may have missed
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere and fast paced environment with multiple on-going projects
  • You will be highly organized, results oriented, no afraid to take initiative and have a willingness to learn
  • Proficient with industry standard software
